How do I create a new account?

To create an account, open the app and select “Sign Up.” Enter your email address, set a password, and follow the instructions to complete your profile. You will also need to set up a Stripe account to receive payment for your barn-sitting jobs.

How do I get notified that a job has been booked?

Once the barn owner agrees to your fees, they book you for the agreed-upon time and date. You will receive an email notification that the booking is requested, which will then allow you to accept or decline the job. Once accepted, you will receive a notification 48 hours before the job begins.

Forty-eight hours after completion of the job, the agreed-upon fee—less the 15% service charge—will be transferred directly to your account that you set up in Stripe.

Am I able to customize my rates based on the job?

Yes! Once you receive a booking request, you can select “customize rate.” Enter the details that define the reason for the customized rate. The barn owner will receive your customized rate request and accept or decline.

What is the background check badge? How do I get one?

You can get a background check through Checkr at your own cost. Having the background check badge may help your application stand out, as employers are likely to review your information first.

How to Complete the Background Check Process:

Select the background verified button on your profile screen.
You will be directed to Stripe for a one-time payment.
After payment, Checkr will invite you to complete your information.

Background checks are conducted by Checkr, an independent third-party provider. Once BarnTribe receives confirmation from Checkr that the background check has been completed, a Background Verified badge will appear on your profile. The badge reflects completion of the background check process only and does not constitute a guarantee, certification, endorsement, or representation regarding a user’s safety, trustworthiness, qualifications, or suitability.
